With this law, these sites will be shut down within the year and the future of online gambling within North Carolina looks gloomy. It was during this time that lawmakers did not overrule regulating online poker. They saw that there could be millions of dollars in revenue and that shutting these casinos down could in fact be detrimental to the state. The economic slump has grown in North Carolina with a possibility of being billions of dollars in deficit, a problem that gambling regulation could curb.
